The Supreme Court says that corporations are “individuals”, and enjoy the same rights as plain old human beings do in this country. Well, let’s just consider one interesting place where that supremely twisted logic might take us:
– I, a simple human individual and taxpayer, want the same rights and privileges as “corporate individuals”: to write-off ALL of my personal operating expenses (food, housing, fuel, beer, trips to Paris, Gucci shoes, etc) in the same way that corporate individuals do, and reduce my taxable income to the near-zero rates that the likes of Exxon Mobile, Citibank, Dow Chemical et al pay. Why should human individuals be limited to deducting only things like mortgage interest, and the paltry personal deductions that the IRS allows? I WANT MY CORPORATE INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS, AND I WANT THEM RIGHT NOW!!!
I’d like to take THAT case to the Supreme Court…
Pass it on. Get mad. Make it right.
