Scientists and regular folks have their knickers in a twist over “Grand Canyon: A Different View”, a Christian fundmentalist treatise asserting that the canyon was formed in the “divine flood” a mere few thousand years ago. The book can be found on the shelves of the National Park Service bookstores at the Grand Canyon, which – naturally – causes non-believers/rationalists/secular humanists to go berserk.
I am not worried, though. As with Neanderthal man who was unable to adapt and went the way of the Dodo bird, the inexorable process of natural selection will eventually remove the book’s willfully ignorant readers from the human gene pool. This, too, shall pass.
